Discounted Warranty for 2020 SL

Quick question for anyone who's been down this road, I've got a '20 SL with just under 30k on the clock, and the dealership has been offering me an extended warranty at a discount since my factory one's ticking down and its funny coz they're pushing the whole peace of mind angle, but I'm not sold yet.

Has anyone here actually used the extended warranty for real repairs on theirs and was it worth it, or just money down the drain? I baby the car and do all the maintenance on time although its a hand me down, so I'm wondering if this is just dealer fluff or something I might be glad I did later on

If you've been keeping your SL in great shape and staying on top of its maintenance, chances are you won't really need that extra coverage. I've seen some folks feel like they hit the jackpot when something major goes wrong, but for a lot of people, it just ends up being dealer fluff. Are you thinking about hanging on to it for the long haul? If so, it might be a good idea to check out the common repairs that pop up after the 50k-mile mark.

Extended warranties are often just overpriced insurance for unlikely problems, if you're maintaining it well and it's only at 30k, you're probably just lining the dealer's pockets for nothing

Glad you're all aggreging that the dealership is trying to scam @Muraneer, but let's ask what they offered and what are his plans. If you ask me, if he plans to keep the car for longer and the quote isn't too terrible, then it's not a bad choice, especially if he has the cvt, which we all know how well they hold up over time.
