Trouble hearing passenger

In our 2020 Nissan Murano Platinum, passengers are barely audible on hands free calls. Has anyone tried rerouting or upgrading the cabin mic?

I haven't done that and I think rerouting might be more a trouble than it's worth.
Would you instead consider trying an external bluetooth microphone?
Look for one where it clips onto the visor or even a dedicated hands-free device.
You can find these easily on Amazon or at electronics stores like Best Buy.
Many of them offer superior mic quality compared to built-in systems, and it would be a much simpler install!

That's a different approach that I hadn't considered. Thank you for the suggestion. For now, I'm hoping to find a way to improve the performance of the built-in factory system before adding other components. We'd prefer to avoid having extra devices and wires clipped inside the cabin if possible. My goal is to see if the stock microphone can be made to work better for all passengers.
